Eating from the Pantry Challenge
I inadvertently accepted the challenge last week.
Without even trying we have been eating from the pantry this week. And eating pretty well if I do say so myself.
Monday-Roasted chicken legs, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, and corn on the cob
Tuesday-Taco salads w/ refried beans
Wednesday-Chicken and Dumplings w/ fresh bread
Thursday-Club sandwiches provided by our league sponsor
Friday-Date night with my nephew so we had McD's and hubs had leftover taco salad
Saturday-Pintos and cornbread
Sunday-Chicken pot pie and mashed potatoes w/ gravy
While I made a couple of trips to CVS I didn't go to the grocery store at all. That's got to be a record for me! Hubs did go to the store yesterday to pick up some milk so our grand total last week was $1.09.
This week I plan on going to Kroger to pick up a few things we need (sugar, flour, onions, carrots, etc.) and a few things I have coupons for:
Steamfresh veggies - 1.00
.50/1 = Free
.35/1 (1/10) = .30/each
Oikos greek yogurt - 1.00
1.00/1 (1/3) = Free
Gatorade - 1.00
.50/1 (1/10) = Free (if G2 version is included)
My goal is stay under $20. Normally, this isn't an issue but this time I have to pick up a few more "must haves" than I usually do so we'll see.
Southern Savers has a full Kroger match up for this week!

Admit it! You just want to be cool like me. hahahaaa
Those are some great-sounding meals!! The hardest part of the challenge for me is staying out of the grocery store!!
Isn't it amazing how well we can eat when we take some time to plan it? ;)
