"Live Green Together" - Cascadian Farms Giveaway

With Earth Day´s 40th anniversary on April 22nd fast approaching, Cascadian Farm wants you to join the celebration by pledging to follow a few eco-friendly tips on Facebook.

Choose from eight different pledges, ranging from reusing clothes to reducing your speed while driving on the highway, and find the one that fits your lifestyle.

For each person that signs a pledge now through May 31, 2010, Cascadian Farm will donate $1, up to $40,000, to the Organic Farming Research Foundation, which fosters the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems.

It's easy to pledge by visiting the Earth Day tab and signing the pledge that´s right for you. I chose Food Planner because it not only helps to save the planet, but it helps me save money!

Speaking of saving money, visit CascadianFarm.com to download a $1.00 coupon and learn more about Cascadian Farm products.

For us, composting has been the biggest help! It's so easy to do and we've cut down on our trash by so much! Plus, we recycle everything else that we can, so our trashcan is never nasty, never full, and only needs taken out about every other week, sometimes longer.

We recycle and try our best to not waste any food!

We unplug everything that we can and wrap the cords up when not in use. It started as a way to protect our kids but as an added bonus reduces our electrical use, too.

use cloth diapers and line dry! One set of cloth diapers has made it through three kids and now we use them as cleaning rags in the bathroom.

My best green tip is to swap instead of buying new -- I swap my kid's outgrown clothes with other moms so our kids get new wardrobes, all recycled!

Recycle & Reuse are 2 key words in my house. We recycle everything & reuse so many things. Plastic shopping bags have 100's of uses, and we reuse ziploc bags all the time! Thanks, Tammy gordonfan@embarqmail.com

We always try to use reusable items such as bags at the store or old towels instead of paper towels.

My best green tip is to join a CSA (community supported agriculture). What you do is essentially buy a share of a farm. You will get local veggies every week while supporting a local farmer and keeping chemicals/pesticides out of the environment!

My best green tip is from William Morris: "Have nothing in your home that you neither know to be useful nor believe to be beautiful." Being smarter and more selective consumers would go a long way in reducing waste.
