Last week I showed you my brand spankin' new square foot garden box & the plants that were happily planted there.
WEEK 1
WEEK 2
I came home from a short vacation to find that my red pepper plant is not doing so well. :( I don't understand why since the other plants seem to be thriving in all the rain we've had recently.
But I'm not giving up; I plan on buying another red pepper plant this week & 3-4 more plants for the empty spaces. I also need to get the stakes in but between the rain and being gone it has not happened yet, though the forecast is clear for this weekend.
Now it's your turn...how is your garden doing this week?

I love this idea of gardening!
We have had so much rain, with a bit of sun mixed in, that my garden looks gorgeous! As soon as the rain lets up, I'll take some pics :)
Good luck with the peppers...I had very little luck with mine last year. Not sure why they're so difficult.
Got our 4 tomato plants staked and mulched today. For mulch, I used grass clippings. For the stakes, I used spiral tomato stakes that are iron. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/428444615/spiral_tomato_stake.html
They work great and don't rot, rust, etc.
Those are awesome Nancy! I wonder if I can find them locally. I need to go out this afternoon or in the morning to get something to stake them with.
